COVID-19 Restrictions: Guidance for Intuitive Reiki Therapists in Australia
Do I need to be vaccinated to work as a Reiki therapist or teacher?
IICT Membership & vaccination status requirements:
As a Reiki training school, all of our students receive insurance and are required to join a professional Reiki association in order to practice professionally. We recommend IICT and they have advised us that membership with them is not dependent on vaccination status, and they do not require this information from their members to obtain or maintain an active membership.
Please note, as IICT is not a government or political body, and is unable to provide exemptions to government mandates. Therefore, their return to work guidelines are in line with the Australian federal and state government regulations. As such, it is the responsibility of the practitioner to abide by the regulations stipulated by their state government with regard to returning to practice/mask-wearing/vaccination requirements/density quotas, etc.
Please consider the safety of yourself, your family, and your clients when making decisions on practicing Reiki, and remember that while in-person sessions may not be possible you can offer online face-to-face sessions to your clients and students.
I have enjoyed teaching Reiki in new and innovative ways and have found that the recent upgrade in technology, as well as the user confidence learning Reiki online, has resulted in many benefits to name a few:
Lower costs to run events allow us to keep our workshop costs at a minimum and
Introduction to new Reiki friends around Australia
Online visual teaching tools
Live interactive sessions online via zoom
Q & A sessions with Lisa Brandis
Change can be scary for some and liberating for others. I have interviewed many of our students who learned Reiki both in the room and online and most of our students reported that they really loved learning Reiki online.
Over the past 12 years, I have offered a choice of attending online or in-room and had a majority of students prefer to attend online, listing the main benefit was learning in the comfort of their own home and not having to travel as their main reason.
Western Australia’s Safe Transition Plan – 5th Nov 2021
WA has announced a Safe Transition Plan in line with expert health advice. The transition will occur when WA reaches a double dose vaccination rate of 90% of the eligible population (12 years and over) and is expected in late January/early February.
Once WA has surpassed 80% double-dose vaccination of eligible Western Australians, a specific transition date will be locked in.
The Plan outlines safe conditions for interstate and international travel and provides certainty on how businesses and WA’s way of life can continue safely with the introduction of baseline public health and social measures once COVID-19 enters WA’s community.
For more information on WA’s Safe Transition Plan visit: www.wa.gov.au or contact 13COVID (13 26843).
